Friend the Secretary of State was invited to launch National Environment Week on Wednesday 8 May, but was unable to do so: he has asked me to carry out the launch on his behalf. I shall be participating in an event associated with Mid Bedfordshire district council's contribution to National Environment Week on 21 May.
