§ Mr. Maples[holding answer 2 May 1991]: The records on HMSO's management information system do not differentiate between management and other consultancy, notably computer consultancy. The consultancy cost for each financial year is assessed as being:

HMSO changed its financial year from the fiscal to the calendar year in 1988. Comparable figures for the years 1979–80 to 1982–83 could be given only at disproportionate cost. The consultancy budget for 1991 is £265,000.
