To ask the Secretary of State for Health how much land his Department owns in London; and how much of that land is unused.

Mr. Dorrell

The Department does not own land in London. At 31 March 1990-the latest figures available

the NHS owned approximately 1,700 hectares of land in the Greater London area, of which approximately 400 hectares had been identified as surplus to requirements.
