HC Deb 01 May 1991 vol 190 c250W
Mr. Forman

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security what would be the additional yield in a full year from abolishing the upper earnings limit for employees' class 1 national insurance contributions.

Mr. Jack

If the upper earnings limit for employees' national insurance contributions were abolished, it is estimated that contribution yield would increase by some £2.5 billion a year.
