HC Deb 28 March 1991 vol 188 c511W
Mr. Brandon-Bravo

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what steps his Department is taking to monitor the development of the port of Immingham to ensure its compliance with undertakings given by the developers to Parliament and to the Government.

Mr. McLoughlin

None. It is not for my Department to monitor developments authorised by private Acts. But I am assured by Associated British Ports that it will provide quarterly information about steam coal imports at Immingham from the arrival of the first ship at the new facilities to 31 December 1985 to the Department of Energy and the House of Commons Library, in accordance with the undertaking given to the Select Committee of the House of Commons during the passage of the Associated British Ports Act 1990.
