HC Deb 28 March 1991 vol 188 c531W
Mr. Shersby

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps he is taking to encourage the citizens advice bureaux, SHAC and Shelter to use their grant in aid to give sufficient publicity to the availability of shorthold tenancies and to encourage private landlords to offer such accommodation.

Mr. Yeo

SHAC, Shelter and the National Association of Citizens Advice Bureaux are receiving grant in aid in respect of work to relieve homelessness, part of which will involve advising people who are potentially homeless of the availability of other accommodation, including that in the private rented sector.

NACAB has been closely associated with the Department's continuing campaign to publicise the changes to private renting legislation, most recently with the booklet "Now it's worthwhile being a landlord' in October 1990.
