To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make additional facilities available to Greater Glasgow health board for bone marrow transplants at Glasgow royal infirmary.

[holding answer 21 November 1990]: Central funding for this service has been assured until April 1991. Thereafter the revenue allocated to Greater Glasgow health board will provide the resources necessary to treat its own bone marrow transplant patients; and the board will be fully compensated during the course of the year for the costs to it of treating any bone marrow transplant patients referred by other boards.

[holding answer 21 November 1990]: At the end of 1990 the waiting list for patients for bone marrow transplants at Glasgow royal infirmary was 31.
