HC Deb 28 March 1991 vol 188 cc503-4W
Mr. Snape

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what discussions he has held with representatives of the Association of British Travel Agents about the extension of the air travel reserve fund to cover passengers travelling on scheduled flights and services.

Mr. McLoughlin

My right hon. and learned Friend has not held any recent discussions with representatives of the Association of British Travel Agents. However, the president of the association has written to my right hon. and learned Friend confirming the association's support for extending consumer financial protection to scheduled airline passengers. This followed my right hon. and learned Friend's recent request to the Civil Aviation Authority for advice on this issue.
