To ask the Secretary of State for Defence, what was the measurement of rainfall during the 24 hours at(a) Ballycastle district on 27–28 October 1990 and (b) Strangford lough area on 5–6 January.

In the 24-hour period starting 0900 on 27 October 1990, 72.8mm of rainfall was recorded at Ballycastle Glenowen and 71.5mm at Ballycastle Magherintemple. In the 24-hour period starting 0900 on 5 January 1991, 12.8mm of rainfall was recorded at Hare island, in the Strangford area.
