HC Deb 27 March 1991 vol 188 cc458-9W
Mr. Fraser

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment when he will respond to a request to meet the hon. Member for Norwood to discuss the budget, poll tax and debt write-off of Lambeth council.

Mr. Key

I have replied to the hon. Member.

Mr. Fraser

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what have been the housing investment programme allocations for Lambeth for each of the last five years; to what extent the approved programme has been achieved in Lambeth in each year; and what will be the programme for 1991–92.

Mr. Yeo

The total housing capital allocations made to the London borough of Lambeth by central Government for each of the last five years are set out below. Actual expenditure on the housing investment programme is also given; this includes reinvestment of capital receipts. Copies of the council's housing strategy statements, which set out in detail the extent to which expenditure on each element of the proposed programme accorded with the council's original plans, have been placed in the Library of the House. The housing investment programme allocation for the year 1991–92 is £33.2 million—the extent to which the council will incur expenditure above this level is likely to depend on its ability to generate receipts particularly from the right to buy.
