To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what recent discussions he has had with local authority associations on the implementation of the Environmental Protection Act 1990.

Implementation of the Environmental Protection Act 1990 was one of a number of topics discussed at the first meeting of the Local and Central Government Environment Forum which my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State chaired on 4 March. All three associations were present. Many meetings at official level have been held with the associations on particular parts of the Act which affect local authorities.
