§ Mr. Heathcoat-AmoryThe higher requirements for the thermal insulation of the roofs of dwellings in England and Wales, introduced in the 1990 building regulations, can effectively be met by 6 in. of loft insulation. Information currently available on levels of loft insulation in existing homes does not enable identification of specific levels of insulation over 4 in. in homes in England and Wales.
