To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what information he has concerning the accident, in which one person died, on the Holloway road in Islington on 8 March; and if he will make a statement on road safety on red routes.

The Metropolitan police are still investigating the circumstances of a fatal accident which occurred on a pedestrian crossing in Holloway road, south of Landseer road, in the afternoon of 8 March.

Road safety will be included in the monitoring exercise for the red route pilot scheme to be carried out during 1991.
