§ Mr. MorganTo ask the Prime Minister if he will institute a study into the advantages and disadvantages of inter-sectoral mergers, takeovers and share stakes in the public utilities.
§ The Prime MinisterI have no plans to instigate such a study. Current legislation provides a sufficient safeguard for the public interest in relation to mergers, including those involving privatised utilities.
