HC Deb 21 March 1991 vol 188 c226W
Mr. Win Griffiths

To ask the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food how many grant applications under the farm aid conservation grant scheme have been refused in the last two years; and for what reasons applications were refused in each case.

Mr. Curry

In England, since the farm and conservation grant scheme was introduced in February 1989, a total of 653 claims have been rejected or withdrawn and 6,626 claims authorised for payment up to the end of February 1991. Claims will have been rejected for a breach of either the statutory requirements or the administrative rules of the scheme. Reasons for rejections in individual cases could be given only at disproportionate cost as this information is not held centrally.
