To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment how much has been spent in Government grants on derelict land, following the closure of coal mines, in north-west Leicestershire since 1979.

Since 1979, payments of derelict land grant totalling £2,496,884 have been authorised for schemes for the reclamation of former collieries in Leicestershire, North-West.
