HC Deb 21 March 1991 vol 188 cc217-8W
Mr. Adley

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on progress of the implementation of the coach ban in parts of Pimlico, as agreed by his Department in accordance with the submission of Westminster city council; when the ban will be introduced; how many signs are needed; what these will cost; and who will pay for them.

Mr. Chope

[holding answer 20 March 1991]: The implementation of the area coach ban and the associated costs are matters for Westminster city council. The Department's approval for a coach ban in the Victoria/Belgravia/Bayswater/Sussex Gardens /Bryanston areas which was required under the Local Government Act 1985 because of the potential effect on traffic flow in the strategic road network, was given on 16 October 1990.
