§ Mrs. RumboldSince September 1989 we have received four letters from hon. Members, five from local authorities and six from members of the public on this issue. I recognise that the hon. Member has raised a matter of genuine concern, but there are important democratic reasons for publishing the names and addresses of registered electors which make an amendment of the existing electoral law in the way proposed unacceptable.
