To ask the Secretary of State for Defence when he will announce a decision on the competition for the replacement of the Chieftain tank.

I hope that a decision on the equipment for our future main battle tank will not have to be delayed too long.

To ask the Secretary of State for Defence if he will make it his policy to award the contract for new battle tanks to Vickers Defence Systems and Challenger 2.
