§ Mr. YeoPlanning applications to build chemical incinerators will, like all development proposals, need to be considered on their individual planning merits taking account of relevant material considerations. The Government have not issued planning guidance relating specifically to chemical incinerators. However, work is in hand on the preparation of a planning policy guidance note on pollution and waste management which we plan to issue in draft for public consultation later this year. One of the issues on which we shall be consulting is the need for planning guidance on the location and siting of incinerators.
