asked Her Majesty's Government:

What the current situation is regarding the United Nations programme to distribute humanitarian aid throughout Angola.

The Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Office (The Earl of Caithness):

The UN Special Relief Programme was suspended by the Angolan Government on 21st December. We and others urged the Angolan Government to reinstate the programme without delay. We welcome the announcement on 11th March that it is to restart.
