HC Deb 14 March 1991 vol 187 c644W
Mr. Barry Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what progress he has made concerning improvements to north-south roads in Wales.

Sir Wyn Roberts

The Welsh Office has spent £165 million on 35 improvement schemes to the A470 and A483 since 1979. The A470 Llanidloes bypass was opened on 25 February; the A483 Chirk bypass is on course for completion in the spring. Information on further plans for improving north-south links is contained in the 1991 supplement to "Roads in Wales", published on 25 February.
