§ Mr. JannerTo ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will issue a circular to health authorities advising them to use their discretion to provide incontinence aids for elderly people in residential homes who are either on income support or who otherwise have difficulty in paying for these aids.
§ Mr. DorrellOn 18 February 1991, the NHS management executive issued an executive letter to health authorities (EL(91)28), which reminded them that good practice in continence services includes provision for regular and adequate supplies of incontinence aids. A copy of this letter is available in the Library. Officials will shortly be beginning a departmental review of continence services and incontinence aids.
