HC Deb 13 March 1991 vol 187 c556W
Mrs. Wise

To ask the Secretary of State for Health whether the Health Education Authority has any programme of work with trade unions for disseminating knowledge about pregnancy-related matters among working women.

Mrs. Virginia Bottomley

The authority provides a range of information on pregnancy to women on an individual basis and through health care professionals. The authority's "Health at Work" programme provides a range of services for employers and their employees in areas such as coronary heart disease, cancer, women's health, AIDS/HIV and alcohol misuse. This programme has the support of both the CBI and the TUC. It is open to employers to approach the authority about workplace initiatives on pregnancy-related matters.

Ms. Harman

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what is the cost to the national health service of a pregnancy test.
