To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what is the current state of diplomatic relations between Her Majesty's Government and the Government of Iraq.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

Diplomatic relations were broken off by Iraq with effect from 6 February.

33. Mr. Fraser

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make a statement about the latest developments in Iraq.

There are clear indications of serious and widespread popular discontent with the Iraqi regime. It remains to be seen whether those opposed to Saddam Hussein will succeed in their efforts to remove him from power.
