HC Deb 13 March 1991 vol 187 cc540-1W
Mr. Corbyn

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what is the level of Export Credits Guarantee Department funding of trade between Iraq and the United

Kingdom that has been underwritten per year since 1979 and the amount paid by his Department due to default of payment by Iraq; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Sainsbury

[holding answer 12 March 1991]: I refer the hon. Gentleman to the answer I gave him on 17 October 1990, Official Report, column 837. With regard to the amount paid by ECGD due to payment default by Iraq, it has not been the policy of this or previous Administrations to reveal the level of ECGD claims payments on individual countries.
