Mr. David Hunt

The movement of carcases of suspect BSE cattle for incineration or burial is carried out on an England and Wales basis; it is not restricted by county boundaries. There are at present two incinerators in Wales used to handle such carcases, in Clwyd and Dyfed. During 1990, 1,268 carcases were incinerated in Wales and five were buried. Figures for the first quarter of 1991 are not yet available.
