§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleyExpenditure by the family health services for drugs in England in 1989–90 was £1,942 million. The 1989–90 cost per head of population of all NHS drugs (including drugs in the hospital and community health services) was £49.40. A comparable figure is not yet available for the current financial year.
