HC Deb 11 March 1991 vol 187 c404W
Mr. Norman Hogg

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland how many representations he has had on the proposed line of the M80 through the Kelvin valley; and how many of these representations(a) favoured and (b) opposed the Kelvin valley option.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

[holding answer 7 March 1991]: The route through the Kelvin valley is one of two routes assessed by the consulting engineers in the feasibility study submitted recently to the Scottish Office Environment Department. The respective merits of these are currently under consideration and only after a preferred route is identified will draft road orders be published. At that stage representations will be invited.

Mr. Norman Hogg

To ask the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on his proposals for the line of the M80 through the Kelvin valley.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

[holding answer 7 March 1991]: Discussions on the feasibility study received from the Scottish Office Environment Department's consulting engineers are still continuing. On completion of these formal presentations will be made to regional and district councils and other affected parties. Thereafter, a decision will be taken on the preferred route for the M80.
