§ Mr. LeighThe Flakt system is one of a number of systems for cleaning flue gases.
I understand that Her Majesty's inspectorate of pollution, which is involved in the enforcement of pollution control legislation relating to waste incincera-tion, is aware of the class of pollution abatement system to which the Flakt type belong. However, it is for individual operators of plants which produce flue gases, rather than my Department or the inspectorate, to evaluate particular technologies which may help such plants to meet the requirements of pollution control legislation.
