§ Mr. John PattenFigures published by the Commissioner of Police of the Metropolis show the clear up rate for notifiable offences recorded in the Metropolitan police district in 1990 was 17 per cent. and the number of crimes cleared up had risen from 131,400 in 1989 to 141,700 in 1990.
