To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment if he will outline the method of funding used to finance local government in each of the 11 other members of the European Community.

[holding answer 6 March 1991]: Information on local government revenue in the European Community is compiled by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development and published in "Revenue Statistics of OECD Member Countries". The information requested is set out in the following tables.
