§ Mrs. Virginia BottomleyThe latest available information, at 31 March 1990, is given in the table. It is the time people wait which is important, not total numbers on the list. The number of patients waiting over one year for in-patient treatment in Leiecester health authority has fallen by 61 per cent. since 1979 and by 14 per cent. in the 12 months to March 1990. In addition, the number of in-patients treated in Leicester in 1989–90 has increased by 49 per cent. since 1979.
