§ Mr BeggsTo ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether the conditions of approval for the land fill site at Sullatober Mill, Marshalltown road, Carrickfergus have been complied with; what monitoring has taken place on site since approval was granted; whether the present condition of the site merits revocation of the licence; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. NeedhamThe site has been monitored frequently since 1984, when planning permission was first granted. In the period between 1985 and 1987, three breaches were detected and remedied. No further breach was detected until March 1990 and it, too, was remedied. Two further breaches have been detected and enforcement action has commenced. The question of revocation of the site licence is one for consideration by Carrickfergus borough council.
