Mr. Alfred Morris

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security if he will list all the statutory instruments which will be superseded by regulations made under the disability living allowance and Disability Working Allowance Bill.

Mr. Scott

A number of sets of regulations will be made under the Disability Living Allowance and Disability Working Allowance Bill. The introduction of disability living allowance will, for example, require amendments to be made to all the regulations relating to attendance allowance and mobility allowance and to a range of other sets of regulations covering general matters such as claims and payments and the inter-relationship between benefits. Work is continuing on the drafting of the regulations and it is not yet clear how many sets of regulations will need to be amended.
