§ Mr. Allan StewartMy right hon. Friend has, at present, no plans to meet the chairman of British Steel. My right hon. Friend met the company's chief executive on 21 February, when he was informed of the decision to reduce Ravenscraig to single furnace working. The Scottish Development Agency's study of the prospects for the steel industry in Scotland has identified two potential opportunities and these will be discussed further with British Steel.
