HC Deb 06 March 1991 vol 187 c201W
Mr. Martyn Jones

To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations the Government have made to the Indian and Pakistan Governments concerning the situation in Kashmir.

Mr. Lennox-Boyd

As I told the House on 14 February, in our regular contacts with the Indian and Pakistani Governments, we have made clear our belief that their dispute over Kashmir should be settled by peaceful agreement between them. At the same time we have condemned the use of violence for political ends and emphasised our concern that human rights must be respected.
