HC Deb 05 March 1991 vol 187 cc89-90W
Mr. Beggs

To ask the Secretary of State for Transport if he will make a statement on the destination and cargo of the British registered coaster MV Breydon when fire broke out earlier this month.

Mr. McLoughlin

A statement is not appropriate at this stage as the cause of the fire is still being investigated by the marine accident investigation branch. However, I understand that when the fire broke out the vessel was on passage from Great Oakely, near Harwich to Drogheda in Southern Ireland, with a cargo of explosives.
