HC Deb 05 March 1991 vol 187 cc81-2W
Mr. Vaz

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many representations he has received regarding the conviction of Kiranjit Ahluwalia; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. John Patten

Fifty-nine representations have been received about the conviction of Kiranjit Ahluwalia. We have considered these very carefully but have concluded that they do not provide any information that would justify the intervention of my right hon. Friend the Home Secretary in this case. The normal procedures for the review of life sentence prisoners will continue to apply.
