HC Deb 05 March 1991 vol 187 c99W
Mr. Ashley

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what plans have been made to provide adapted housing for service personnel permanently disabled in the Gulf; and how these will be financed.

Sir George Young

British casualties in the Gulf have, mercifully, been light and no difficulty is expected in providing adapted housing for any of them who may have been permanently disabled. Disabled people may obtain assistance for house adaptations under the house renovation grant system introduced by the Local Government and Housing Act 1989.
