Mr. Janner

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department whether he will reimburse the Leicestershire police force in respect of unforeseeable expenditures which have led to budgetary overspending.

The Home Office will continue to meet 51 per cent. of Leicestershire police authority's expenditure on revenue costs through specific grant, regardless of whether the expenditure was foreseen or not.

To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how much funding the Leicestershire police force has received from central Government in each of the past five financial years.
