HL Deb 04 March 1991 vol 526 c63WA
Lord Malley

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they are content, in present circumstances, with the intention of Thames TV and Channel 4 each to show again the controversial programme "Death on the Rock"; and, if not, whether they will take appropriate measures to prevent these showings.

Lord Reay

In 1988 the Government expressed concern about the broadcast of this programme in advance of the inquest into the shootings. That consideration is no longer relevant and it is for the broadcasters themselves to decide whether to repeat the programme or not. I understand that any repeat broadcast will take place either on Thames Television or Channel 4, but not on both, and that the precise scheduling of the programme will be decided in the light of all the relevant circumstances at the time.
