§ Mr. Lennox-BoydThe Government of India are well aware of our concern that human rights must be respected. We have emphasised the importance of allowing independent investigations by human rights organisations and of being seen to bring wrongdoers to justice. We are confident that the Twelve will continue to monitor developments in Kashmir closely, and to reflect their 499W concerns in further statements at the annual meetings of the UN Commission on Human Rights, and of the UN General Assembly.
