§ Mr. ChopeResearch is being carried out on a wide range of issues in road and vehicle safety. Main research areas on road user safety include driver behaviour, road safety education, pedestrian accident causation, engineering measures for accident prevention, enforcement, and rehabilitation. The vehicle safety research programme includes side impact protection for car occupants, motor cycle safety, pedestrian protection measures in vehicle design, HGV accident investigation, vehicle lighting and signalling systems.
Research reports giving the results of research are published regularly.
