To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Science if he will seek a report of the views of parents of children attending schools in Wandsworth that Wandsworth council is seeking to amalgamate, before deciding on the council's proposals.

If the council wishes to amalgamate some of its schools, it is required to publish proposals under section 12 of the 1980 Act. Parents of children attending schools affected by such proposals will have the opportunity to make their views known during the two-month objection period following publication. My right hon. and learned Friend will take those objections into account in making his decisions on proposals which come before him.
