asked her Majesty's Government:

What was the value of the Social Fund at 1988 prigs per person registered unemployed (a) in 1988–89; (b) in 1991–92.

At 1988 prices Social Fund expenditure in 1988–89 was equivalent to £104.15 per person registered as unemployed¹. Expenditure in 1991–92 will not be known until the year is over.

¹ Based on the average number unemployed over the year.
