HC Deb 20 June 1991 vol 193 c297W
Mr. David Porter

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry whether he has identified any further candidates for agency status under the next steps initiative.

Mr. Lilley

As I told the House on 22 May,Official Report, column 475, I continue to consider the possibility of establishing further agencies in the DTI. I have now identified the DTI accounts branch, Newport, as a candidate for agency status, with a view to its becoming operational later this year.
