Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security (1) how much of the work at his Department's offices in the Doncaster area has been transferred to other offices in the past 12 months; and if he will make a statement;

(2) what proposals he has to alter the disposition of social security benefit claims in the Doncaster area.

Miss Widdecombe

The transfer of work and handling of benefit claims within the Doncaster area are matters for Mr. Michael Bichard, the chief executive of the Benefits Agency. He will write to the hon. Member and copies will be placed in the Library and the Public Information Office.

Mr. Redmond

To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security how many people are currently receiving family credit in the areas covered by his offices for the Doncaster area; and how many people were receiving family credit in the same areas(a) 12 months and (b) 24 months ago.

Mr. Jack

The administration of family credit is a matter for Mr. Michael Bichard, the chief executive of the Benefits Agency. He will write to the hon. Member and copies will be placed in the Library and the Public Information Office.
