To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment what is the current(a) level of budget expenditure per adult in each inner London borough and (b) level of external support per adult in each such borough.

The available information is as follows:

Government grants in 1990–91, consisting of revenue support grant, special grants, specific grants in aggregate external finance, community charge benefit grant and transitional relief grant, paid per head of relevant population to Doncaster metropolitan council and to the London borough of Kensington and Chelsea are £338 and £960 respectively.
