§ Dr. Thomas
To ask the Secretary of State for Transport what assessment he has made of the implications for the United Kingdom of the recommendations of the Group Transport 2000 Plus report on transport options for the future, released by the European Commission in January.

§ Mr. Freeman
The report of the Group Transport 2000 Plus is one of a number of sources being used by the EC Commission to prepare a paper on future Community transport policy. We will assess the implications of that paper as a whole when it has been completed.
